Welcome to Insight MSK

If you’re living with chronic knee pain, frozen shoulder, or stubborn joint problems that haven’t responded to physiotherapy or medication, you’ve found the right specialists.

Between us, we have over 30 years of combined experience perfecting advanced injection treatments for musculoskeletal conditions. At our London Bridge clinic, we combine comprehensive assessment with precision ultrasound-guided injections to deliver results that last.

What makes our approach different?

We don’t just inject and send you on your way. Every patient receives a thorough clinical assessment, diagnostic ultrasound scanning, and a complete treatment plan. Whether you need Arthrosamid injections for knee osteoarthritis, barbotage treatment for calcific tendonitis, or corticosteroid injections (steroid injections) for inflammatory conditions, you’ll receive the same level of expert care we provide in our senior NHS roles.

All our injections are performed under real-time ultrasound guidance – Research shows ultrasound-guided injections are more accurate than landmark-guided injections in many joints and may be associated with improved clinical outcomes.. We can see exactly where the needle is going and ensure the medication reaches precisely where it needs to be.

Specialist Injection Treatments

Arthrosamid Injections for Knee Osteoarthritis

A game-changing injectable treatment that may help reduce pain and delay the need for knee replacement in selected patients. Unlike temporary steroid or hyaluronic acid injections, Arthrosamid integrates with your joint lining to deliver sustained relief.

Ideal for patients who:

  • Have moderate to severe knee arthritis
  • Want to delay or avoid knee replacement surgery
  • Haven’t found lasting relief with other injections
  • Need to stay active without constant pain
  • Need to stay active without constant pain

Conditions We Treat

  • Big toe arthritis (hallux rigidus)
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Posterior tibial tendonitis
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Ankle and foot arthritis

Not Sure What’s Wrong? The One-Stop Assessment & Injection Clinic

Many of our patients arrive without a confirmed diagnosis – they’ve been told different things by different doctors, or they’ve been waiting months for an NHS scan. That’s exactly why we offer comprehensive one-stop assessment appointments.

  • Take a detailed clinical history
  • Perform a thorough physical examination
  • Carry out diagnostic ultrasound scanning
  • Provide you with a clear diagnosis and written report
  • Discuss all your treatment options based on current evidence
  • Perform an ultrasound-guided injection if appropriate (same appointment)

This approach saves you weeks of waiting, multiple appointments with different specialists, and the frustration of not knowing what’s actually wrong. You’ll leave with answers, a clear treatment plan, and often immediate relief.

  • Undiagnosed shoulder, knee, hip, or ankle pain
  • Suspected tendon tears or tendinopathy
  • Joint pain where the cause isn’t clear
  • A condition that needs imaging before treatment
  • Complex or multiple joint problems

Real-Time Ultrasound Guidance for Every Injection
We never inject “blind.” All our injections – whether steroid injections, hyaluronic acid, or Arthrosamid – are performed under real-time ultrasound guidance. We can see the needle entering the joint, avoid important structures, and ensure the medication is placed exactly where it needs to be. Studies show ultrasound-guided injections are more effective with fewer complications.

What Our Patients Say

“Max is a highly trained, responsive, competent, communicative, and caring practitioner. He has successfully treated me for the management of knee pain and other arthritic conditions over the last 5-6 years, enabling me to live a physically active life. I really cannot recommend Max highly enough.”

Helena Davis, 55, Personal Assistant, Royal College of Psychiatrists

Max truly delivers first class care.

Max looked after my mother as his patient, and I can’t thank him enough. He was incredibly attentive, kind, and understanding throughout her care. He took the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and ensure she felt comfortable and reassured.

His professionalism combined with genuine compassion made a real difference— he’s a real credit to his profession.”

Rayhaneh, client's daughter

“I had an ultrasound-guided steroid injection in my shoulder and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism and care. I saw Max and he took the time to explain the procedure clearly, which immediately put me at ease.

The ultrasound guidance made a huge difference. I felt confident knowing the injection was precise and targeted. Best of all, the procedure itself was completely painless, which was something I had been quite nervous about beforehand.

The whole process was quick, and far more comfortable than I expected. I’m already noticing improvement, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this treatment and clinic to anyone dealing with shoulder pain. A genuinely 5-star experience!”

LG

“From meeting Max in the waiting room to leaving was a great experience. For someone that’s afraid of needles Max maid me feel so comfortable, and talked me through the scan and the following procedure. Just like to say a big thanks Max yesterday I was in so much pain from Calcific Tendernitos and today 100% better and can move my arm etc without the pain I’ve had for months.
Thanks. Neil”

Neil

“Strongly recommend Max at MSKInsight.

Max at MSKInsight provided a thorough and excellent diagnosis. He is an expert in his field and has his client’s best interests at heart. I respect his honesty and professionalism. I arranged to have an ultrasound-guided injection. Once he had done the preliminary scan, he explained that my issue was different to my given diagnosis, gave his diagnosis and said the injection wouldn’t help, saving me an unnecessary expense and false hope. Furthermore, he contacted my NHS physio and provided them with recommendations for the best treatment.”

Jamdog

Thank you so much for your patience and commitment Mr Max. 8 months from now and my hips are fine following the injections. I also feel stronger with the exercises. That’s more than I expected, you are brilliant.”

Lola Adeniyi, 46, Project Manager

Two years ago, I was facing a blind alley with a chronic shoulder pain. After visiting many doctors I finally met Max who offered an alternative diagnosis and different treatment approach. Now I can sleep and I play darts again. He is the only consultant that I trust for my physical health.”

Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can book directly without a referral, though you’re welcome to bring any relevant medical records or imaging.

Absolutely. Max sees patients on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Gareth sees patients on Wednesdays. Both clinicians offer the same high standard of care and perform the full range of injection treatments.

This depends on the type of injection. Steroid injections typically provide relief within 3-7 days. Hyaluronic acid works gradually over 2-4 weeks. Arthrosamid continues improving over 6-8 weeks and can last years. We’ll explain the expected timeline for your specific treatment.

Most patients find the injections far less uncomfortable than expected. We use local anaesthetic first, and the ultrasound guidance allows us to work quickly and precisely. Many patients watch the procedure on screen – though you’re welcome to look away!

They’re the same thing. “Cortisone” is a type of corticosteroid medication. We use modern, precise corticosteroids that are very effective for reducing inflammation in joints and tendons.

Research shows that unguided “landmark” injections miss the target up to 30-40% of the time in some joints. With real-time ultrasound, we can see exactly where the needle is going, avoid important structures like nerves and blood vessels, and ensure the medication reaches the right place. This means better results with fewer complications.

While hyaluronic acid provides temporary lubrication (typically 6-12 months), Arthrosamid is a non-biodegradable hydrogel that integrates with your joint lining to provide cushioning for up to 3 years. It’s particularly effective for patients with moderate to severe knee osteoarthritis who want longer-lasting relief.
