Research shows ultrasound-guided injections are more accurate than landmark-guided injections in many joints, and may be associated with improved clinical outcomes.
Many patients arrive without a confirmed diagnosis, told different things by different doctors, or waiting months for an NHS scan. In a single appointment we assess, scan and, where appropriate, treat.
Perfect if you have persistent joint or tendon pain, an unclear diagnosis, or you simply want answers without the wait.

"A highly trained, responsive, competent and caring practitioner. Max has successfully treated me for knee pain and other arthritic conditions over the last 5–6 years, enabling me to live a physically active life. I really cannot recommend him highly enough."
"I had an ultrasound-guided steroid injection in my shoulder and honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. Max explained the procedure clearly and it was completely painless. I'm already noticing improvement, a genuinely 5-star experience!"
"For someone that's afraid of needles, Max made me feel so comfortable and talked me through the scan and procedure. Yesterday I was in so much pain from calcific tendonitis, and today I'm 100% better and can move my arm without the pain I've had for months."

We're Maxence Legout and Gareth Evans, experienced NHS advanced practice MSK physiotherapists and sonographers, offering you the same expertise privately, without the wait.
Advanced Practice Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist & Sonographer
Maxence Legout is a musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapist with over 15 years' experience. He holds consultant-level clinical positions in the NHS and performs more than 2,000 ultrasound-guided procedures each year.
His foundations run deep: a BSc in Sport Science (2007) and early work as a strength & conditioning coach at David Lloyd Brussels shaped a career-long focus on movement, strength and rehabilitation. After graduating with a Master's in Physiotherapy, top of his year, with its highest-ranked dissertation, he specialised in MSK medicine, developing a particular interest in acute spinal conditions.
In 2016 he became the first physiotherapist to join the Emergency Department at King's College Hospital as a senior clinician, managing acute presentations from minor surgery and fracture management to undifferentiated illness. There he pioneered ultrasound scanning for MSK conditions, notably ultrasound-guided anaesthesia for dislocated shoulders prior to reduction. He also spent 10 years as an advanced practitioner within orthopaedic triage and treatment services, and now works exclusively in diagnostic and interventional radiology alongside his private practice.
Max is also a recognised educator. He has taught on the MSc in MSK Physiotherapy at Louvain University in Belgium and created the UK's first MSK ultrasound course for emergency clinicians. Today he teaches ultrasound-guided injection techniques to doctors on international cadaveric courses in Belgium, the first of their kind in the French-speaking world.
Alongside his procedural expertise, Max has a particular interest in longevity medicine, including how the menopause affects the musculoskeletal system, and how to preserve strength and physical activity in an ageing population.
He combines technical precision with a holistic, patient-centred approach, taking the time to understand each person and build a treatment plan that lasts.
Advanced Practice Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist & Sonographer
Gareth is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Sonographer with over 15 years' experience managing musculoskeletal conditions. He performs more than 1,000 MSK interventions each year, and is actively involved in education, regularly teaching on MSK injection and ultrasound courses.
Gareth holds degrees in Sport & Exercise Science and Physiotherapy, along with postgraduate qualifications in Injection Therapy, musculoskeletal ultrasonography and MSK medicine. With a strong clinical background across community and hospital musculoskeletal services, as well as radiology, he performs over 1,000 MSK interventions each year.
His clinical background is complemented by previous roles as Clinical Lead, Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registered Manager, and executive committee member for MSK professional networks, which have kept him closely engaged with evolving practice and regulatory standards.
His passion lies in delivering patient-centred care that is both safe and clinically effective. At Insight MSK, Gareth provides musculoskeletal assessment, diagnostic ultrasound and MSK injections.
